First Line Friday

First Line Friday | Week 44 | A Time to Part by Ama Pomaa

It’s First Line Friday! That means it’s time to pick up the nearest book and quote the first line.

Today I’m sharing from a book I edited: A Time to Part by Ama Pomaa. Ama lives in Accra, Ghana, with her three sisters, managing an addiction to novels and writing stories that touch on God’s love and societal issues. So if you’re looking for a Christian novel with a totally original setting (Ghana!), then check out A Time to Part.

Here’s the first line:Book quote from A Time to Part by Ama Pomaa: Jasmine woke up wishing she was dead. The nightmares weren't to blame this time.

About A Time to Part:

Raised in an abusive home, Jasmine Morrison carries scars she doesn’t let show. After her father’s death, she leaves home to rebuild her life, away from the memories that keep her awake and the guilt of breaking the only man who ever loved her. When a tragic incident forces her back into the past, she’ll have to decide if letting go is too high a price to pay for everything she wants. But what if it means facing everything and everyone she’s been running from?

When Hagan crosses paths with the ex-love-of-his-life years after she drove a knife through his back, he knows God is up to something. Getting on board proves harder than he ever thought possible. That is until he realizes there’s more to what tore them apart, and that maybe, there is a chance save her this time.
